English task

Situation: You are going to write an article for the school news paper. The theme for the issue is: "Movies in School", and the purpose is to give examples of good movies that can be used in education. You have just seen Mississippi Burning and you want to tell other students about the movie and how it can be used to discuss the Civil Rights Movement and the ethics of law enforcement.

Write in Google Docs, name the document "Mississippi Burning". The article should be 200-300 words long.

The text you write will be used to cover this criteria:
Eleven beskriver olika samhällsförhållanden, kulturtraditioner och levnadssätt i områden där engelska talas, och använder denna bakgrund för att kommentera och diskutera film

Ni kommer också att få respons på språket, men det kommer inte att vara betygsgrundande.

These are questions that should be dealt with in one way or another in your article.
What does it say about law enforcement? Do things by the law or take matters into your own hands? (Not a yes or no answer. Ok in the short run, long run? Who decides?)
Is it a good movie to show about Civil Rights Movement? About law enforcement?
Is the end scene realistic? Blacks and Whites united at last?

You will have the lesson on Monday to finish the article, and it should be finished before the Christmas break.
