England!

England is where it all started and today we will learn a bit more about this tiny country, which managed to spread its language and people to the four corners of the world.

Here is the document we will work on today. Read and do all the exercises (we will go through some of the rules and grammar dealt with here on Thursday).

You can practise the words at glosboken.se. Search for "England-BG"

For Thursday: read and do exercises pp. 1-4. There will be a quiz on the questions and the words. I will go through the difference between adverbs and adjectives.

For Monday: pp. 5-15. Hand in all the exercises finished by hand, mail or Google Docs. This should be done when you come to class. I will not accept anything handed in later.

After this you will continue working on different aspects of the English-speaking world. You can choose between the topics below, but you can't choose the same as anyone else. You call (paxar) the topic by posting a comment on this post with your name and the exact name of the topic you want. I need this by Wednesday, or I will assign a topic to you.

The topics are:

Canada
Australia's Wildlife
New Zealand
London
Varieties of English
Sydney
Ireland
Irish culture
Florida
Channel Islands
Food culture in Britain
New York
The Royal Family
Wales
Shakespeare
Scotland
South Africa

USA
